Optimize losses in the extraction channel

One pulse every > 5 mins (CNGS target) - stop injection after each extraction - then switch timing OFF on MKE

Verify CNGS target temperature and vibration after each shot

Verify vacuum after each shot

Beam conditions: LHC on SC 546 (28.8 s long - 24 basic periods)

# injections = 1 to 4

Nbunch = 1.3 x 1011 p (1 - 4 batches)

One pulse every > 10 mins (CNGS target) - stop injection after each extraction - then switch timing OFF on MKE

Measure transverse emittance of the shot with Wire Scanner in the SPS

Verify CNGS target temperature and vibration after each shot

Verify Collimator temperature

Verify vacuum recovery after each shot

TT40 logging should be running

The person in charge of opening the cooling valves should bring a DMC

 

Extraction of 4 x 72 LHC bunches in the SPS with collimator IN (scan in steps of 1 mm of both jaws)  - 9 extractions

One pulse every > 10 mins (CNGS target) - stop injection after each extraction - then switch timing OFF on MKE

Measure transverse emittance of the shot with Wire Scanner in the SPS

Verify CNGS target temperature and vibration after each shot

Verify Collimator temperature

Verify vacuum recovery after each shot

Measure transverse emittance of the shot with Wire Scanner in the SPS
