Tuesday 11/09 (08:00 - 14:00) - Setting-up of the LHC beam in the SPS (both transverse and longitudinal)
Change of supercycle => LHCMD25.92-55-270_PDOT_V2 (31.2 s long)
Timing sequence Name => LHC25NS-w/coast-0/1/3
Other equipment modifications for the MD:
- Changed accelerator mode for FT: no extraction
- NORTH extraction off
- MST/MSE girders retracted
- Servo off
- Switched off TT20 AUXPS
Beam conditions: PSB users = LHC25A&B / PS user = LHC25 / SPS user = LHC25NS (RF MMI pointing to LHC25NS => See below how to do this)
RF MMI pointing to LHC25NS (method):
- Working Sets
- RF-MMI => SPS-MMI
- Select context => SPS.USER.LHC25NS
- View => Show devices description
- MMI target LHC25NS => Enabled and MMI target "previous one" => Disabled. To be done 2 times as it appears 2 times in the list
- Delay has to be set to 550
#injections = 1 with 12 bunches first up to 4 with 72 bunches - Extraction from the PS w/o QKE58
Nb = 1.3 x 1011 p/b
Transverse emittances (e* < 3 mm)
Longitudinal emittance: eL* = 0.35 eV.s
=> Check also that with the timing SIX.MC-CTM Enabled (CCV 425) in Timing New, the instrumentation is working!
=> Copy the RF timings of LHC25NS on COASTPRE and COASTREC (i.e. both RF-SPEC and RF-MMI) using archives.
For the COAST, we dont't touch (it is adjusted by the experts once). However, there is some fine tuning to be done in particular for the transverse damper
=> Some archives have been done for the COASTPRE, COAST and COASTREC ("settings for coast with SC LHCMD25.92-55-270_PDOT_V2")
- RF MMI / RF synchro / LHC25NS / Write / BU bunch 3847 for the 1st injection => Put 4247 (i.e. + 400) for the 2nd, 4647 for the 3rd and 5047 for the 4th one.
