N. B. Because of the water stop on Monday morning and considering that getting the source back will take ~24 hrs, realistically it will not be possible to send ions to the SPS earlier than Tuesday afternoon (Detlef). The ion MD time at the beginning of the block will therefore be used only for the set up of the parallel ion cycle (without ion beam)

- Monday 10/08 (15:00 - 16:00) - Change supercycles in the PS and SPS (OP). The SPS supercycle will be the parallel ion one

- Monday 10/08 (16:00 - 22:00) - Setting-up of the parallel ion cycle (without ions) (OP, RF, ABP)

- Monday 10/08 (22:00 - 23:00) – Change supercycles in the PS and SPS (OP). The SPS supercycle will be the 120 GeV/c coastable with 4 injections (RF)

Cycle: MD_26_120_L18000_2009_V1 (15 BP = 18 s) => 120 GeV/c coastable

Low intensity beam conditions: PS user = LHCINDIV and PSB user = LHCINDIV

#bunches = 4 (i.e. 4 PSB rings)

Nb ~ 1E11 p/b

Transverse emittances : e* < 3 microm

Longitudinal emittance eL* = 0.35 eVs

High intensity beam conditions: PS user = LHC25 and PSB user = LHC25A+B

#batches = up to 4

Nb ~ up to 1E11 p/b

Transverse emittances : e* < 3 microm

Longitudinal emittance eL* = 0.35 eVs

- Monday 10/08 (23:00) to Tuesday 11/08 (01:00) - BI studies (R. Steinhagen)

- Tuesday 11/08 (01:00-17:00) - UA9 (Crystal) (W. Scandale)

- Tuesday 11/08 (17:00 - 21:00) - BI studies (R. Steinhagen)

- Tuesday 11/08 (21:00) to Wednesday 12/08 (04:00) - Instability in double RF system for SPS and LHC (E. Shaposhnikova)

- Wednesday 12/08 (04:00 - 12:00) – LHC Collimators (R. Assmann)

- Wednesday 12/08 (12:00 - 13:00) – Maybe change of supercycle for high intensity in the SPS (up to 4 nominal LHC batches) accelerated to 450 GeV/c

Beam conditions: SPS user = LHC1, PS user = LHC25 and PSB user = LHC25A&B

# batches (bunches) = 1-4 (72)

Nb ~ 1.3E11 p/b

Transverse emittances: e* < 3microm

Longitudinal emittance eL* = 0.35 eVs

- Wednesday 12/08 (13:00 - 20:00) – SPS Upgrade studies (E. Shaposhnikova)

- Wednesday 12/08 (20:00 - 21:00) - Change supercycles in the PS and SPS (OP). The SPS supercycle will be initially the dedicated ion one

- Wednesday 12/08 (21:00) to Thursday 13/08 (07:00) – Set up ion capture, switch to parallel (RF)

- Thursday 13/08 (07:00 - 08:00) - Recovery from MD (OP)

- Change of supercycle

- Send beam to physics at 08:00
