Week 29 - Parallel MD

 

Reminder 1: There should always be 1 cycle reserved for parallel studies in the PSB.

Reminder 2: During the week (if / when possible) the PSB and the PS will continue to work on the production of LHC75 in 1 batch.

 

Monday 13/07 (00:00 - 08:00) - BBLR in the SPS (as there is no CNGS cycle during this time)

Beam conditions: SPS cycle = MD_55_106_2009_V1 (plateau of 5 s at 55 GeV/c), PS user = LHCINDIV and PSB user = LHCINDIV

SPS user Timing = LHC3 and RF MMI mapping = LHCMONO

#bunches = 4 (i.e. 4 PSB rings)

Nb = 1E11 p/b

Transverse emittances: e* = 3 microm

Longitudinal emittance: eL* = 0.35 eVs

(Qx, Qy) = (26.31, 26.28)

 Injector Long MD

 In // (during the time the SPS takes only 1 PS LHCINDIV cycle ), studies can be performed in the PS on:

- The Long LHC cycle (in case of problem with the motor/generator set) on Monday 13/07 => Contact Person: Y. Papaphillipou

- Tests with the newly cabled radial loop pick-ups SS36 and SS76 + Setting-up of the LHC25 cycle on Tuesday 14/07 => Contact Person: H. Damerau
