Week 31 - Parallel MD (Monday through Friday 2-6/08/2010, from 8h00 to 18h00)

N.B. The parallel MDs take place all the time from 8:00 to 18:00, provided the LHC is in store or does not request beam. The MD cycle is removed from the supercycle during the LHC filling

Monday-Tuesday - Study of the maximum intensity 150ns beam that can be injected and accelerated in the SPS with acceptable beam quality under PS standard hardware conditions

Beam conditions:  150ns beam with intensity up to nominal (1.1e11 ppb), single batch injection into the SPS (12 bunches)

PSB user = LHC75

PS user = LHC75

SPS user = LHCFAST3

MMI Target = LHCMD

Wednesday-Friday - Single-bunch (TMCI + longitudinal) studies in the SPS with higher intensities than nominal (with the new beam prepared in the PSB-PS the weeks before: ~ 3E11 p/b were reached!)

Pre-requisites:

Due to high peak signal, the MOPOS have to be disconnected before injecting this beam into the SPS

Beam conditions:  PSB user = MD3, PS user = MDPS, SPS user = MD1 (MD_26_L7200_V1)
