Week 27 -
Long dedicated SPS MD
Monday-Friday 04-08/07/2011 during LHC
stop
Monday 08h00 - 12h00
Supercycle:
special supercycle
composed of Booster LHC_MD_A users separated by one or two zero cycles. No other
destination than the PSB dump.
MD title: High intensity tests from
Linac2
Beam conditions:
Check the effect on LHC-type beams
Cycle:
PSB user = LHC_MD_A
PS cycle =
PS timing user =
SPS user =
RF MMI target =
Contact People: R. Scrivens, B. Mikulec, G. Rumolo
Additional remarks: Emittance vs. intensity curves (changing the number of injected turns) should be determined for high current injected from the Linac2 and compared to previously measured curves with nominal intensity from Linac2. During this measurements the PS MPS must not be pulsed in order not to have perturbation from the PS stray field.
Monday 14:00 - 18:00
Supercycle:
total 36bp, made of
two long flat bottom LHC
cycles, one nominal optics and the other one low gamma transition
MD title: BLM tests in the dump line
Beam conditions:
low intensity beam (between 1e9 and 1e10 p)
Cycle:
PSB user = copy of LHCPROBE to an MD user
PS cycle =
PS timing user =
SPS user =
RF MMI target =
Contact People: Eduardo Nebot Del Busto, Bernd
Dehning
Additional remarks: This MD will be carried out in parallel with the SPS users (see next) and PS (and PSB? compatibility to be checked) physics users. During these tests it has be made sure that only this beam goes to the beam dump, therefore the other users must have either PS (or ISOLDE?) as destination and have zero cycles in spare.
Monday 12h00 - 15h00
