Week 41 - Parallel MD (Monday through Friday 11-15/10/2010, from 8h00 to 18h00)

N.B. The parallel SPS MDs take place all the time from 8:00 to 18:00, provided the LHC is in store or does not request beam. The MD cycle is removed from the supercycle during the LHC filling. MDs in the CPS complex can take place whenever there is free place in the supercycle

 

PSB:

Monday - Check and adjustment of the LHC25A+B beams to be used for the double batch transfer of the LHC50 to the PS

Beam conditions LHC25 beam with half nominal intensity and small transverse emittances (<1.5μm)

PS:

Monday - Friday - Set up of beams to be used by LHC (in order of priority and with 2) to be done only if there is a request):

1) Restore the LHC75 user to its original user with a 75ns beam

Beam conditions LHC75-type beam

PSB user =   LHC75 (restored to the 75ns beam)

PS user = LHC75

 

2) Set up the cycle for the double batch 50ns beam (with only one injection from the 4 PSB rings on h=1)

Beam conditions LHC50-type beam in the PS and LHC25 half intensity in the PSB

PSB user =   LHC25A

PS user = LHC25
